TEMPE, ARIZONA, December 1, 2021 – Solari Crisis & Human Services announces that the company has been awarded a five-year grant from the United States’ Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to continue providing Mental Health Awareness Training in Arizona. The grant is for a total of $622,630.00, or $124,526.00 per year, and runs through September 2026. With the funding, Solari will provide training to and certify more than 2,000 individuals across Arizona in Mental Health First Aid. This is the second such grant Solari has received from SAMHSA. The first grant was for $374,031.00 over three years and concluded in September 2021, with Solari providing training to more than 1,100 individuals. “Solari is deeply honored to have been awarded this second grant from SAMHSA to continue providing Mental Health Awareness Training for our fellow Arizonans. The program further reduces mental health disparities and stigma in our state and, most importantly, trainees are certified and equipped with the skills to save lives,” said Justin Chase, President and CEO of Solari. Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based program that teaches trainees the signs and symptoms of common mental health challenges and the skills to help someone experiencing those symptoms. Upon completion of the course, trainees will be awarded a three-year certification.
